That can be self-contradictory as some of the most stunning websites are the most complex.  They are also the most difficult to load on a typical shared broadband connection.  At the other extreme, you can have the most boring website that loads real fast, with all the information you need right on the front page.

The challenge is really to strike a balance between the two.  That’s what distinguishes a seasoned, sought after and highly paid web developer from the amateur type who may be technically or even artistically equipped to design Flash animated web pages that will never load fast enough.

One easy trick you as a web owner or webmaster can do is to visit as many websites from frequently visited sites as well as award-winnings sites.  Do some reverse engineering by accessing their html or asp codes. Then copy the form and structure.  That’s the best amateur way to get your hands dirty on making a website that really works.
